No matter how bad your condition is, there's always someone that's even worse than you.”

“ I’m upset because I have no shoes, but that man over there has no feet. No matter how bad your condition is, there's always someone that's even worse than you.”
Mr. Naughton was born in New York City. He dropped out of school in 8th grade and joined the Marines. Then about 31 years ago he moved to this area. He founded the Men's Club with Mr. Jim Nutt. Mr. Naughton also used to work at the Otsego Manor and the Cooperstown Motel. He volunteers for the Hartwick Seminary Fire Department.
My favorite story from Mr. Naughton was the lake story. About 8 years ago Mr. Naughton, his wife, Mrs.Naughton, his son, Mr. Naughton (the second), his daughter-in-law, Mrs.Fernandez-Naughton, and his two granddaughters, Trista, and Kalie, all went to the fireworks show for Flag Day. Then, when the beautiful fireworks were over, the boat wouldn't turn on. So, Mr. Naughton had to find someone to tow the boat out of the water. Then, his son and daughter-in-law had to lift Kalie and Trista over the edge of the boat to dry land.
Now Mr. Naughton likes to go to yard sales with his wife, Mrs. Naughton. He also likes to go to Three Mile with his grandchildren Kalie, and Noelle. Mr. Naughton did say that he loved the museums here and going there with his family. List
Mr. Naughton’s words of wisdom were, “I’m upset because I have no shoes, but that man over there has no feet. No matter how bad your condition is, there's always someone that's even worse off than you,” and “Think again before you utter words that cause others’ pain. For hearts are slow at healing if they ever heal again.”
It was truly enjoyable interviewing Mr. Naughton. Please listen to the full interview and learn the remarkable story of Mr. Naughton
